Rinaldi Studio Press is a new US publisher started by armour modeller Michael Rinaldi. RSP is dedicated to bringing you a new style of scale modelling how-to books that focus on painting and weathering of scale models, with a focus on the artistic elements, as well as the technical processes. TANKART is the first series launched, and is on armour model finishes.

There are many "how-to" books in today's world of scale modelling, but none has covered the "why's", as well as, the "how-to's"… an artistic approach… until now. In TANKART, a painting and weathering guide book series, the focus is on taking real-life observations of paint and weathering effects and incorporate the best techniques to replicate them. Within this first volume, WWII German Armour, Michael will go deeper into his thoughts about why of certain steps as it relates to German camo schemes.

Combined with Michael's education in design, passion for learning & teaching, and great photography, RSP has strived to produce a book which focuses on the importance of telling the story of each vehicle. To bring these ideas to life requires a spectrum of processes and techniques which are covered in great detail; including the Hairspray Technique and Michael's new Oil Paint Rendering -- techniques that can be combined in an layered array to tell the story of each model.

There will be 8 TANKART volumes to start the series with and inside Vol. 1 WWII German Armour there are 2 dedicated how-to technique chapters, followed by 5 individual model project chapters, plus a special bonus figure painting chapter by master modeller Marijn van Gils.

The text is presented in a unique dual-text format, the main text covers the technical how-to of each project, and the orange caption boxes contain the "why" of my thoughts as the author about my ideas and reasons behind each step of the process.
