Mantis Miniatures
have just released a new set of photos showing off what they have been doing
over the last month or so – four new kits in 35th scale – to soldiers
an animal set and a Schwimmwagen update are joined by a surprise set of three
officers in 72nd scale – clickety click on our preview to learn more…
Mantis Miniatures new products for March:
35052 Schwimmwagen Driver
Sculpted by Krisztian Bodi and this version is painted by
Artur Miniszewski, this figure is designed to fit the Tamiya Schwimmwagen kit
no: 35224. The driver of this amphibious Volkswagen is dressed in nearly as
warm gear as his officer counterpart as he waits at the wheel of his “drive”.
Notable are his reversible parka with hood and his M43 steel helmet.
35053 Seated SS Officer
In 1/35th scale resin this SS officer is wearing
full winter gear with long boots and leather gloves to keep him insulated from
the cold of the Ardennes forest. In his
oak leaf autumn laced up smock he is looking back down the road and sitting up
high on the re-enforced chairs while a procession of “whatever you want” passes
him.
Sculpted by Krisztian Bodi and this version is painted by
Artur Miniszewski, this figure is designed to fit the Tamiya Schwimmwagen kit
no: 35224.
35054 Schwimmwagen Crew, Ardennes '44-45
Sculpted by Krisztian Bodi and this version is painted by
Artur Miniszewski, this set is again designed to fit the Tamiya Schwimmwagen
kit no: 35224.
These crewmen are designed not only to fit this vehicle but
as a set to complement each other – both similarly but differently attired this
pair – skilfully painted like the
examples here – and with the update for the Schwimmwagen will make this a
cornerstone of your Ardennes diorama.
MAC01 Canvas covers (for Schwimmwagen)
1/35 scale figure Canvas covers made from Resin to sharpen
up your otherwise basic Tamiya Schwimmwagen kit no: 35224. This is a good kit
by itself but it needs a few parts to further jazz it up – these covers for the
tyre, the folded roof, the covered headlights and windscreen give you no excuse
to not try with this kit. They sure will set it apart from the others around…With
the AFV kit coming out it my even fit that!
35055: 1/35 scale Animals Set 14
Sculpted by P.Szymczyk and in this case painted by
A.Miniszewski these bush critters include 1/35th scale wild boar and
piglet, a badger, a pheasant and two small fowl as well – all made in resin.
Mantis are building up quite a menagerie aren’t they!!
72002 WWII German Officers (Late War)
This is a boxart of our new 1/72 set from upcoming release.
(Sculpted by Boris Knokhov & painted by Man Jin Kim) these tiny figures
will be a godsend to those people who like to model in a small scale but haven’t
many quality figures to choose from. These three figures are seen in a variety
of clothing as they may well be by the end of the war when the shortage of
standard items had bitten. You could use them in pairs, individually or all
three we suppose – they will be well received anyway we think.
Thanks to the people
at Mantis Miniatures for
the information on these great new sets – they should be available now or very
soon at your local hobby shop.
