The M48 “B” modification was used extensively in the Vietnam
conflict extensively as the main battle tank for the Us Marine Corps and US
Army - and Dragon has their latest
kit of this very type in their sights as their latest kit announcement…
The M48 main battle tanks was designed to dominate the
battlefield in a possible war with the Soviets in Europe – Well it turned out
the Patton wasn’t used in the fields of Central Europe in WWIII – but that doesn’t
mean it isn’t a popular tank. 12000- odd were made from 1952-59 and Dragon has made a 1/35th
scale version of the “B” Modification with additional armour on the exhausts
and tail lights, and a raised commander's cupola.
