In a new series called “Airframe Detail” Valiant
Wings Publication’s new title examines one of the weirdest designs in
aviation history (and there have been many of them) – the ungainly looking but
it seems very interesting Blohm & Voss Bv 141 aircraft. We were interested
to see why so many people are captivated by this aircraft so what better way to
start by reviewing this title…

Review: Ultracast Spitfire Mk. IX resin parts for the Eduard kit.
Somewhat of a Spitfire aficionado (having built so many by
so many different manufacturers that he has probably lost count himself) Tony
Prince stepped to the plate when there were some new 48th scale
spitfire improvement sets for the Eduard MKIV kit from Ultracast to examine. See what he thought in today’s Review…

Build Review: Jono goes small with Flyhawk's 1/72nd scale Ft-17 Tank w/cast Turret
Recently we had the chance to look at Flyhawk’s latest 1/72nd scale tank kit – the riveted turreted
Ft-17 tank of WWI vintage – this package
was two tanks in one box and we thought they were great. Well FlyHawk have sent
their brother kit to this, the Cast turret tank in a similar set up. We gave
the kit to Jono to build to get a second opinion and to compare it to an Airfix WWI tank kit. Let’s have a look to see
what he thought…

Build Review: Takom’s 35th scale WWI Heavy Tank w/Rear Mortar Mark.IV “Tadpole”
We have seen a few of Takom’s kits and built a few in
reviews here on TMN. We have found them
simple to build with a lot of detail and almost a bit of a throwback to the
Tamiya white box its with 21st century details. Today Paul Lee sees
if the latest WWI tank – the “Tadpole” with a big ol’ mortar on the rear
matches it’s brothers in arms…

We visit “First World War in the Air.” RAF Hendon’s new Exhibit
We had the pleasure
to be one of the first into the brand new exhibition at the RAF Museum at Hendon recently that
re-worked and invigorated their world War One flying machine exhibition. “First
World War in the Air” opened on the 4th of December 2014 and was funded
partly by BAE Systems and the National Lottery grant we thought you should get
a look at the brand new exhibition with a little on each of the more
interesting points we saw. “Wing-nuts” will love this collection!
