New items from Hasegawa in April...
1/72nd scale J-11 Chinese Air Force Limited Edition
Although it's based on the Sukhoi Su-27, the Chines J-11 is
a bird all its own. The old Russian design has been updated with Chinese-made
engines, avionics and weapons that make it roughly equal in fighting prowess to
the American F-15 Eagle. Although the cloak of secrecy is drawn tighter around
the J-11 than virtually any other military aircraft in the world, one thing is
certain. The J-11 is becoming a more versatile and potent weapon with every
passing day.

F-35A Lightning II
1/72nd scale F-35A Lightning II
In years to come, aerial warfare will change as more
sophisticated weapons emerge. The F-35 is an airframe intended to counter
improvements in detection and engagement systems. It is a multi-role fighter
designed with stealth capabilities which are intended to improve its
survivability in a world swarming with SAM batteries. A few hurdles remain,
however. Primarily the 1.5 trillion dollar sticker price for the program and
the 20 million lines of code that remain to be written for its incredibly
sophisticated software.

1/72nd scale F-4EJ Kai Phantom II 2013 Limited Edition
Japan's fighter squadrons operate Phantom II aircraft out of
bases all over Japan. For forty years, these Phantoms have been responsible for
keeping Japanese Airspace clear of hostiles. Even after forty years, the
Phantom's armament, speed and manoeuvrability still make it a dire threat to
modern aircraft. Air Combat Meets keep pilots sharp and ready. In addition, the
airframe's versatility allows it to accomplish many types of missions, making
it essential for smaller air forces.

1/72nd scale Nakajima KI27 (Nate) Limited Edition
The Ki-27 was developed by Nakajima in 1935 to replace the
Kawasaki® Ki-10 fighter biplane. What the Ki-27 lacked in speed and climbing
ability, it made up in manoeuvrability. In 1939's Battle of Khalkhin Gol,
Ki-27s squared off against Soviet I-15 bi-planes and I-16 monoplanes. When
faster I-16s appeared, Ki-27s no longer cut it. As a result, they were
relegated to being bomber escorts during WWII's early days.

1/72nd scale Messerschmitt BF109E-7 Japanese Army Limited Edition
The Bf 109E-7 first fought on the front lines in August of
1940. The E-7's biggest advantage over earlier variants was that it could carry
drop tanks and bombs. In 1941, the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force purchased a
fleet of five Bf 109E-7s (without armament) to be used for flight testing. The
IJAAF's knowledge of the Bf 109E-7's liquid-cooled, inverted V-12 engine
resulted in the successful Kawasaki® Ki-61 Hien.

a juggernaut loaded with one of the heaviest weapon loads of any WWII fighter.
Together, these fighters helped scour sky, sea and soil of enemies and pave the
