Today we build a set of early war Germans making a bit of an investigation on a defeated foe from Neucraft Models – we thought you might want to investigate them yourself in our construction review…

These two figures are sculpted by Qing Yi for Neucraft Models - a fairly new company to most people. The figures are meant to go together but if you need to buy them as two singles I see that there is also an option to buy them as a set at this link for a slightly cheaper price of USD$26.50.
Cast in light grey resin, these are both sent in little cardboard boxes with zip-loc bags that seal all of the parts in there. The parts were cast pretty nicely, with no real extra material in the way of resin "flash" if that's what you would call it. The sculptor has done some nice work on both of these figures - so let's have a look at them both in turn. starting with the privilege of rank first?

France 1940, a German officer is examining an abandoned enemy tank shortly after the combat. Typically dressed in an early war uniform with breeches and tall boots, he is seen reserved but aware with his arms behind his back. Notice optics on his tunic’s chest area and his large map case and large pistol holster on his belt.
The simple construction of these minimal parts (in this case he's sculpted in one piece!) makes the figure an easy "build".
Here he is from a few different angles unpainted in grey resin. Not much to talk about in the build but he is wearing very typical early war. Peaked officer's visor with the crumpled wire in the peak to make him look like a veteran, down to the smart officer's tunic and wide breaches really do speak arealy - war and resource rich German army don't they?
You can see on his uniform his small map case on his lower right hip, his field optics on his chest and his dual-holed officer's belt around his waist and high "jack boots" - the sculptor has done his research.

France 1940, a German infantry NCO is examining an abandoned enemy tank shortly after the combat. This German NCO is seen with his MP-40 in his hand while he bends over to look at the damaged vehicle, person, or whatever you would like him to be examining in your diorama.
The figure comes in two parts this time (what a long construction process) and in this case the arm holding on tot he Mp 40 is separate, the sculpt is well done to have the strap of the weapon to be wrapped around the arm of the NCO.

The figure is seen bending over, again a product of the early war with his smart tunic and pants, map pouch and extra ammo for the Mp-40. all of this and the diner details on his uniform are easy to pick out when you paint him. He has heaps of potential for the modeller to detail.
Here he is from a few different angles all together, unpainted in grey resin as he leans forward to inspect whatever he is looking at.
These two figures can be combined to create a small diorama of German examining abandoned enemy tanks shortly after the combat. – we have two pictures showing the two painted figures together – checking out the sights in France 1940
This set two figures are a good set together, and although you can get them separately these two's clothing period and body language fit well. The sculpting is great and the figures fit together well. They would be a good selection if you are after some early war Germans having a peek at something on the road.
