Afghan Rebels “Big Set”

This large set of five 35th scale figures captures a group of Afghani Rebels in what would be their everyday fighting attire. The need to slip in and out of inhabited areas and harsh climates necessitated for this type of layered attire that adapts well to the environment.
Several pictures of these figures show the people that they were modelled on with close attention to detail by their sculptor Alexander Zelenkov.

This RPG carrying soldier is wrapped at the face to protect him from the harsh winds and sand. The layered clothing is seen here to good effect, the open vest and layered covers he wears that hang, openly above his open toed shoes.

This soldier is carrying a PK machine gun with a 100 round box attached to it. This important infantry support weapon is a reliable and widely used light machine gun that has been used in different variants for over half a century now.
This rebel is dressed in an a large cover all over trousers and long flowing headgear and his beard, complete with 1000 yard stare, make this a great addition to this set.

This rotund man is well looked after, and definitely a valuable "asset" behind the enemy lines. His body type is a markedly different shape altogether than the men he is commanding.
He is carrying a walkie-talkie in his hand as he gives his orders to his troops, but he is also armed with a rather cool pair of sunglasses. His coat, headgear, beard and scarf are very well sculpted in this figure.

This man is seen in an unusual pose – he is squatting and listening and watching something going on in the close distance and slightly down from him. He is clutching his AK-47 between his fingers as he looks on. He could be placed in a scene by himself or with a group of other like in this big set.
His flowing cowl and his headgear are details which can be altered to your own tastes and these are very nice looking on this figure.

This Afghan rebel is looking on to the scene, with his AK-47 draped over his shoulder as he watches the distance, or a scene going on in the distance. Again he is layered and wrapped in clothing which opens and drapes over his body in a natural and realistic way that will add interest to any painter’s scene.
