The first November 1956 the Reparto Sperimentale Volo flight group of the Italian Air Force was born. The department was soon identified by the number 311 that is still present nowadays on the planes. To celebrate the sixty years of activities a dedicated commemorative livery has been developed and adopted on a Tornado IDS. It has been used during the commemorative event of' October 2016 ant it has generated a great interest and an impressive success. Today the “311” flight group is one of the most advanced aeronautical testing and experimental centres in the World and it is formed by highly trained and skilled personnel. The Tornado IDS, was developed by a partnership program, during the '70s, between Italy, Britain and Germany to develop a modern multi-role combat aircraft air attack. With almost 1,000 units produced, the Tornado is a milestone of the military aviation.

UPGRADED MOULDS
The Junkers JU-88 must be considered the most important German aeroplane of World War II, next to the BF-109 and FW-190. This twin engine plane was originally designed as a fast bomber. The project was a complete success and thus the aircraft was also used as a valuable night fighter, a specialised attack aircraft, a torpedo-bomber or as reconnaissance aircraft and finally, during the final phase of WW II, it became known as “the Flying Bomb”. The A4 was the most widely used variant of the Luftwaffe and participated in all theatres during the war, from the battle of Britain to the desperate defence of the German skies.

The Opel Blitz medium truck was used extensively by the German Army on all fronts during World War Two. Several thousand of them were produced. They were also used as platforms for anti-aircraft weaponry and tanker, workshop and ambulance versions were made. Of sturdy construction and easy to maintain, it also featured good off-road performance which made it invaluable in both the Russian and African campaigns.
