Two new figures in three sets from Rado Miniatures this month
A new set of figures, sold either as a set or as single figures, are here in time for the December holidays from Rado Miniatures. They depict a pair of Soviet scout troopers from WWII in quite fine detail. We have a closer look at them in our preview...
The two new figures are sold in three different packages. either as singles or as a pair of matching figures. Both of these figures from Rado Miniatures are sculpted in 1/35th scale by Radek Pituch and in the case of this boxart painted by Mr Toshihiro Sano (Sama).
The two figures depict two soviet WWII Era Razvedchik (scouts) who were special soldiers in camouflaged gear that acted as scouts or forward interdiction agents by the Soviets.
The gear these soldiers wore (both men and women) were head to toe “amoeba” camouflaged overalls that soviet scouts and snipers often wore on their missions which were more of concealment than outright tactical offensive nature. This one piece overall type had a hood which covered the face and a veil inside the hood - just like these reproduction numbers below.
This Razvedchik (Rahd-Zeh-Vikh) scout is seen in his M1940 steel helmet which the soldiers of the Russian army were issued with after the early war Barbarossa period. The one-piece overall with the amoeba pattern camouflage on it is beautifully painted in this version of the boxart of the figure.
The overalls seem to gather with their own weight while he strides forward. A captured Mp-40 taken from "Ze-Germans" is held to port as he strides forward. He also carries two pinapple grenades and a water bottle attached to his belt.
This Soviet WWII scout is seen walking forward a lot like his comrade, this time with a round drummed 7, 62 mm PPSh-41 SMG in one hand, a captured stick grenade tucked into his belt as he strides forward. again like his fellow scout he wears the large round Soviet steel M40 helmet
We noticed that this soldier is wearing a parka over pants and not a one-peice overals this time, on his officer/ NCO's star shaped belt buckle is his leather belt which has a cloth ouch for a round Ppsh drum magazine and a water bottle also on his rear hip.
These pictures in black and white illustrate the subjects of these sculpts and were used for the sculpting process of these Razvedchik or scouts of the Soviet army of WWII.
Chosen often for their backgrounds in rural areas or hunters, these soldiers had a fearful reputation as stealthy fighters and caused those fascists many a sleepless night because they could pop up anywhere in or behind the lines and cause havoc with night time and concealed attacks and tactics.

These two figures are seen walking together in the set of two figures. Their clothing is similar but not the same, and their body language match each other well enough to fit into the same scene if you would want that.
These two figures are for sale in Rado Miniatures online shop next week and due soon in good modelling shops around the globe
