Mantis Miniatures has two single figures of German soldiers from WWII, A new set of fantasy animals in 1/35th scale and a full set of accessories to kit out your Kettenkrad for your consideration this month. We will look at them all now in a short preview...
Now Mantis Miniatures have over twenty sets of "real" animals and flora - how about time for some make-believe ones? This set is the start of a new range of animals dedicated to any fantasy figures and sceneries in scales 30-90mm. Here below you can see the flora/fauna in better scale representation and unpainted.
Below are examples of the figures - helpfully the sculptor Przemysław Szymczyk is also a very very handy painter - so these have really been brought to life to show you some inspiration and context to the fantasy animals.

The Feldgendarmerie (German: "field gendarmerie") were a type of military police units of the armies of the Kingdom of Saxony (from 1810), the German Empire and Nazi Germany until the conclusion of World War II in Europe.
As you can see on this sculpt this SS-Feldgendarmerie wears the same uniform and gorget (the chest plate) as their Heer counterparts but had it has an addition cuff title indicating they were military police. These special SS-Feldgendarmerie were denoted by a diamond Polizei-eagle insignia worn on the lower sleeve. This soldier features a long greatcoat over his SS tunic. You can see the two pips of a Waffen-SS Oberscharführer. On his cap, you can see the special orange coloured Feldgendarm (Field Gendarme) ribbon that traced the edge of his officer's visor to denote his profession in the SS. This "Headhunter" policeman smokes a cigarette as he surveys the scene off in the distance.

This late war era soldier is either German Army (Heer) or SS to match his comrade in the set - it will be your choice after you paint him up. His garb is similar to the SS Feldgendarmerie Officer in that he wears the large greatcoat over his uniform. Over this is the ammunition bandoliers/ pouches of the STG 44 which is cradled in his waist area (look closer you can see it) - his foot is positioned high enough to rest it on the side of something - Just now don't you really wish you had a Kettenkrad fully laden with gear and stowage???

These two are also sold in a set for a slightly discounted price over buying them as single soldiers. As we talked about earlier, these guys match up pretty well in clothing, with both looking like they are wrapped up against the chillier climes - maybe even at night? We think they compliment each other pretty well.

Sculpted by TANKSFORMERS - this is a new accessory set dedicated to Kettenkrad (Dragon kit) in 1:35 scale.
Again, we see a set of accessories that just could suit the military policemen we looked at earlier. Why I say this is that there are things in here that would suit a colder climate scene - a cushion from a chair to fit a derriere, a covered stell helmet and some padded clothing.
A rucksack with a blanket tied up to it, a mess canister adorn the right side of the Kettenkrad in quite a natural way. A closer look below shows you that cushion that makes the ride on the bike"ohh so much more comfortable". You can see also the weather protector over the big headlight on the front of the Kettenkrad.
