Here's one that wasn't in the Catalogue - Afghan Civilians in 35th scale from MiniArt

So, when MiniArt's catalogue was launched a few days ago, there were a few missing "Secret" Items to be added, and the first of those surfaces today with the addition of a plastic kit of civilian Afghans.

Here's one that wasn't in the Catalogue - Afghan Civilians in 35th scale from MiniArt

MiniArt has a brand new set of figures that were not included in their catalogue released a few days ago (naughty naughty!) but we can forgive them for keeping us in the dark, as this looks like a very useful set of not so typical figures that can be mixed and matches in one, or a few dioramas. Let's look at them...

Amongst the five small plastic sprues are five figures, the  Woman comes in seven parts of plastic and is draped in long garb and wearing sandals
The elder man sitting with his legs crossed wears the long beard and headdress with flowing robes and he consists of eleven parts.
The next sprues contain the figures of a mother and her child, the mother is in robes that flow from her head to toes in one of the traditional forms of dress in this country, the child looks like a young girl in the boxart which is painted by Konstantin Pinaev
The last figure of the set is that of a large but strong-looking afgan man. Solid in his stature, he wears the Pakol hat, also known as Chitrali cap, Gilgiti cap, which is a soft round-topped men's hat, which is worn in many countries in the region, and not just Afghanistan. He is an imposing figure here, and would suit this family or a diorama from another place if you needed.
The more I think about it - the more this whole set could be used for any mix and match of a diorama - or all together it is the modeller's choice. With so much happening in this country and this region, it is a smart move to make more citizens that represent these countries and this modern timeframe...
