January's G.I.'s from the Bodi in our new item preview...

The Bodi from Hungary is providing modellers with some warmth (even if you are in the Southern Hemisphere) this January with a pair of  US Military Police & GI set in the Ardennes in 1944. They come complete with a  stove in the set - or just as single figures if you wish. We look at both of them as singles and as a set in our preview...

The Bodi Model's new figures in June

This GI looks not far from an evening stroll in the brisk weather if you ask me - he looks quite content if I may, hands in his pockets of his hooded double-breasted greatcoat and thick pants with high boots and galoshes.
The rear of the figure sees this GI with head tilted to the side, looking on at the distance in a moment of quiet contemplation maybe?
The wrinkles in his jacket are pretty nicely sculpted and cast in resin, the same goes for the creases right down his pants that are tucked into his boots.
Almost a wistful expression on his face, this is a nice portrait of a young soldier in a moment of peace out of the action.

This military policeman is also sculpted by Stefano D'Antonio 'the Lebanese' as he is called and also in 35th scale. In a single or sold with his companion the GI,  this young man looks very much at home next to the stove that is also included with this figure.
The pot-belly stove comes with a short exhaust and a skilled painter can bring out the red heat these things can produce. To have something like this stove must mean they are behind the lines far enough not to fear been seen by the encircling Germans who these GI's would be facing in December in 1944 when this set was captured in time.
Carrying an M1 carbine and ammunition pouches on his rear on the cloth belt, his long coat looks nicely wrinkled as is his comrades. Just the right amount.
Slightly animated, the man is looking at a shorter away object or occurrence, he looks to have his gloved hands out to receive some warmth from the super-hot stove.

Although these figures can be purchased separately they can also be bought as a set at a slightly cheaper cost price.
When placed together these two figures kind o f look like they are eyeing off the same thing or occurrence. The do fit in nicely with each other and their body language matches.
Of course, sold together there is one stove included as the centrepiece. The men have different gear on and are from different arms of service - a nice winter Ardennes set if ever we saw one.
These figures are all available now from The Bodi Website...
