M1070 Gun Truck

The M1070 is a large tractor developed by Oshkosh, used in combination with trailers to transport M1 Abrams tanks. In addition to tank transport, various other versions were developed. The gun truck type is a local emergency modified vehicle seen in Iraq, with a bulletproof plate attached to the cabin, and an armoured box with two turrets on top, operated as an escort combat vehicle.

The M1070 gun truck is an improvised armoured fighting vehicle used by units of the US Army, based on an M1070 heavy tractor, that is able to carry a large weight of weapons and armour.  They have mainly been used by regular armies to escort military convoys in regions subject to ambush by guerrilla and terrorist forces.
