A closer look at the Fallschirmjager packages from Plastic Invasions Kickstarter campaign ...
Many of you will be aware of Plastic Invasion's Kickstarter campaign that we recently looked at here on TMN. Included in the new book, videos, exclusive photo walk arounds, artifacts are a few features we have not yet looked at in detail.
The first are the photo re-enactments:
There have been two soldiers represented so far in Plastic Invasion's packages so far. One is Jäger Sigfried Sperka and the legendary operation Fall Eiche, in which German Fallschirmjägers freed Italian dictator Benito Mussolini from captivity.
Careful reproduction of wartime photos have been the key in representing modern replicas of these shots. Original photos were used to make these recreations as real as they can be, and as helpful to the modeller as they can within the new book.
There are two packages in the Kickstarter that represent these recreations and original soldiers with a unique feel. A combination of figure and bonuses in "Fall Eiche" and "Fall Eiche in colour" packages.
"Fall Eiche" and "Fall Eiche in colour" packages
In close cooperation with the popular Rado Miniatures brand, Plastic Invasion have prepared a new 1/35th scale figure of the Fallschirmjäger FG 42 from Operation Fall Eiche (Operation Oak) from September 1943 Gran Sasso raid in Italy.
Sculpted by Radek Pituch and cast in 1/35th scale, this figure captures the look and feel of the Paratroopers who took part in Operation Fall Eiche. This figure wears the short brimmed Fallschirmjager helmet, the jump smock and trousers tucked into his boots. He is carrying the unique and very capable gun of the German Airborne soldiers, the FG42, complete with bandoleers of ammunition in the pouches draping the front of his torso.
You can see more detail of this soldier from the rear, with the mirroring of the re-enactment photos with his personal gear. The entrenching tool, bread bag and water flask are all attached to his belt.
The figure comes unassembled and unpainted in the pack along with lots of extras in two different packages you can select from the Kickstarter campaign:
