This is new kit from X-Plus is an injection-plastic model kit of the dinosaur "Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus" from the third Jurassic Park movie. The scene depicts the night time attack in the water on the people in the barge. The 1/35th scale Jurassic Park series from X-Plus
Recently X-Plus has diverged their product line into some interesting scales for the majority of scale modellers. A set which interested us recently was their 1/35th scale diorama of a famous scene from the first Jurassic Park movie - that of Ian Malcolm being chased by the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex after he tried to distract attention from the kids in the overturned ford. A dynamic scent hat has been recreated in injection moulded plastic.
Another set has just been announced by X-Plus from the Jurassic Park franchise in 1/35th scale. This one involves the even larger "Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus" - the Spinosaurus to most of us, in a dramatic scene of the night attack on the boat and barge.
We recently saw the first of this kit new kit of the Spinosaurus with the T-Rex & some Raptors at Wonderfest earlier this year "out in the wild" so to say, put together and painted up - it looked large and impressive...
This new kit relives the epic battle from "Jurassic Park III" with the Spinosaurus, (who defeated the T-Rex in this film -) attacking the boat with Dr. Grant and his passengers in the water at night - all in at 1/35th Scale.
The kit includes a base of the submerged water crane, and the JP III logo to the side. You can display this kit with, or without the base. The Spinosaurus comes in at approximately 41cm in length and stands at 19cm tall. This scale model offers a striking representation of the Spinosaurus's immense size and power, especially when placed next to the submerged crane.
Some thing that is interesting is that the huge Spinosaurus is created in plastic, and still able to stand on one leg in a dynamic pose as he stalks forward.
The painting of this example reminds us you can choose any colours and patterns that you like, The mind boggles really!
Another view of the one legged pose (if you like) that the Spinosaurus has. The light but strong base works well...
We will be getting one to place beside - or maybe opposite - our T-Rex from X-Plus...
This kit is due for release in December. It is on sale at a pre-order price of $46 USD from Japanese model sites like Hobbylink Japan.
