X-plus Model's latest creation licenced form their Jurassic Park series of dinosaurs is this, the 1/8th scale plastic model kit of the Velociraptors "Blue" and "Beta" from Jurassic World: Dominion.

We first saw these at a model show earlier this year in Japan where the prototypes were on show, unpainted, but in their pretty much final form in 1/8th scale. Larger in scale but probably about the same size as their 35th scale T-Rex & Spinosaurus kits.

You can see from these CADs how the kit parts are divided to put the kit together - from sharp claws to scales with the body of the dinosaur surrounded with the reptilian scaled skin over it. One might think they could re-tool some of this skin later if they feel the look of the dinosaur needs to be changed...

The larger of the dinosaurs, "Blue" comes in at a size of about 40 cm, with the diorama base, featuring the fallen tree and broken branches reminiscent of Sierra Nevada Mountains' cedar trees, brings the figure to life in its natural environment.

Unlike PVC or polyresin figures, the lightweight yet durable plastic material enables a remarkably lifelike pose, capturing the dynamic between the two dinosaurs. we have some photos of both of them painted up and in full flight below...
