We like the way that MiniArt undertakes such a merely trivial matter of re-issuing some of their kits. When they find that selected older kits are out of print, they seem to identify what can improve them, be it resin heads, or in this case new weapons & equipment to make them more attractive to those who might have missed out the first time.

This set had its first showing in kit no #35161, also titled "US Officers", this is how they look made up & the box art from the original release.

The special edition kit:

Here are the sprues of the five figures, as you can see from the plastic above, nothing has been changed to these figures, they don't look too bad, and their faces work OK we think.

Three figures on this sprue, these feature the original equipment and weapons...

...plus another two figures, weapons & gear on this sprue.

The three sprues in the special edition are next, with a smaller sprue with pistols in holsters, map packs (usually for officers and some binoculars. (useful for checking up on your staff).

Another small sprue of M1, M2 carbines & ammo along with an M1 Garand rifle. Often carried by officers closer to the front line, as well as pistols.

There is a large sprue of US GI equipment added to this set. M1 helmets (bare & net covering), knives & bayonets, entrenching tools, grenades, water flasks and two types of large pouches can be seen here to add to the figures wherever you like
