A welcome return from Alexander Zelenkov with a new set of 35th scale figures. This is a set of children from the Second World War era, playing and having fun, as only children seem to be able to do with death and destruction all around. Check them out in our preview...
Preview: 1/35th scale "Kids Make Their Own Fun WWII Era, Big Set" (& smaller sets) from Stalingrad Miniatures...
It has been October since the last of Stalingrad Miniature's new figure set releases. They return with his new set of (fittingly) the innocence of children playing and having fun in a grim time, with grimmer repercussions of war touching their every day, perhaps for the rest of their lives.
Young boys swinging from a lamppost in the midst of rubble left by a bombing raid on London during the Blitz circa 1940.
Children playing in an area of bomb-damaged waste grounds in Stepney, in the East End of London, March 9, 1946.
“Children In Naples, Italy”. Children playing in the streets. Photographed by Lieutenant Wayne Miller, July 1944.
Children playing on a bombsite in London in 1954.
Streetboys in Naples & hitchhiking on streetcar.
We only have a few photos of their latest set, but you can see the sculptor Alexander Zelenkov's style is present in these nine child figures, which he also painted. They come in a big set of nine and two smaller sets of three each.

These three come together in a set, seen running down the road or alley, a little girl with a broom in her hand, and a bigger boy gleefully carrying a littler young man on his back. They look like they are having a hard time keeping up with each other! These three come unassembled in light grey resin.

Another three figures of kits playing, these are two in a pram with a bigger kid pushing it, running down the street or road or between the ruins, your choice. The two passengers have a look of apprehension on their faces , while their "pusher" looks like he is running for his life with them on board.

A "Big Set" of nine figures encapsulated a while bunch of kids running and playing/ You could use these little kiddies all together, or break them up to use in smaller groups if you like. The mind boggles, but as we have seen in the many photos above, there are plenty of opportunities for kids to have fun to brighten their days in horrible times especially.
These figures are sold together or in smaller sets, and they are available right now - check these out and all of Alexander's other works at the Stalingrad Website:
