"Hurricane" Mk.ⅡD/Trop
by Hobbyboss
Model: 81780
1/48th scale
The Hurricane Mk IIB/Trop is a British single-seat fighter aircraft developed during World War II. It's a variant of the Hurricane Mk I, featuring modifications for use in tropical regions. The Mk IIB/Trop has the capacity to carry bombs and rockets, making it suitable for close air support. However, due to the added weight of bombs and extra guns, it's noticeably slower and less responsive than the Mk I version. Despite this, its agility allows it to perform well as a fighter. The cannons of the Mk.IIC/Trop were effective against the softer armour plating on German tanks.

The decals in the box
For use in North Africa, the Hurricane Mk.IIB (and other variants) were further modified with additional armour, Vokes and Rolls-Royce engine filters, and strengthened wing tips to withstand higher G-forces. The anti-tank solution was to equip the aircraft with a 40 mm cannon in a pod under each wing, reducing the other armament to a single Browning in each wing loaded with tracers for aiming purposes. The Hurricanes No. 6 Squadron, the first squadron equipped with this armament, were so effective that the squadron was nicknamed the "Flying Can Openers".

HMHS Britannic
by Hobbyboss
Model:83422
1/700th scale
The HMHS Britannic was the second sister ship of the RMS Titanic and the third of the Olympic-class ocean liners. She was designed to be the safest of the three ships with design changes made during construction due to lessons learned from the sinking of the Titanic. The British government paid the White Star Line £75,000 to compensate for the conversion. The transformation into a hospital ship took place for several months before being interrupted by a recall of the ship back into military service.

The decals in the box
It was built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Britannic was intended for the White Star Line's transatlantic passenger service between Southampton and New York City, but the outbreak of World War I saw her converted into a hospital ship. Unfortunately, she was sunk during the war in November 1916 following a mine explosion in the Aegean Sea. There were 1,066 people on board; the 1,036 survivors were rescued from the water and lifeboats. Britannic was the largest ship lost in the First World War.
