Preview: ARTO's new figures to round out 2024
SS-Oscha. Johann Terdenge 05/36
35028
This figure is the fifth in the 12th SS 6 Kompanie series. It was inspired by well-documented archive photographs. The soldier wears Italian army gloves, which were obtained by the 1st SS in 1943 from Italian stores and were commonly worn by 1st SS troops on the Eastern Front during the winter of 1943-1944.
He wears a Kriegsmarine leather uniform, consisting of a top and bottom, along with a leather winter hat. This type of hat was frequently worn by tankers in the 3rd SS Panzer Division during the Battle of Kharkov in the winter of 1943.
The figure includes two interchangeable heads: one with the earflaps detached and the other with the earflaps attached, as depicted in the accompanying photographs. Around his neck, he wears 7x10 binoculars, which serve as a distinctive feature. Notably, the Kriegsmarine leather uniform can be used for most SS Panzer units without modification, as it was widely worn near the end of the war. It is also suitable for use with the 1SS of the Eastern Front in the winter of 1943/44 or in the Battle of Ardenne in December 1944.
SS-Hstuf. Wittmann, im Tiger
35029
This figure depicts Michael Wittmann aboard the Tiger I number "231", based on famous news reel footage taken in July, 1944. In contrast to the previously released figure 35021 Wittmann, which portrayed him as a SS-Obersturmführer during the Battle of Villers-Bocage.
This new release captures Wittmann in his role as SS-Hauptsturmführer, following his promotion and the award of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords.
The figure features subtle changes to reflect this new rank, including the updated Knight's Cross, neck collar, and shoulder insignia. As it depicts Wittmann in a Tiger-I "231" pose, this figure can be paired with the Tiger-I "231" or "007" models. Additionally, the item includes etched headphone parts for a more detailed and realistic representation.
SS-Strm. Günter Boldt, im Tiger
35030
This figure depicts Günter Boldt, a crew member who was on board the Tiger "231" with Michael Wittmann, as seen in a well-known newsreel from July. Tragically, Günter passed away shortly after the footage was taken at the age of 18.
He is dressed in a distinctive M44 Dot-patterned panzer jacket and trousers and wears a well-worn M43 cap with visible folds. The figure's pose shows Günter holding onto the Tiger-I loader hatch, a common and versatile pose that can be easily matched with not only SS-Panzer-Abteilung 101, but also other SS heavy tank battalions that operated Tiger-I and Tiger-II tanks.
Heads, WWII British SAS ETO Beret
AH35018
This SAS beret is a faithful representation of the types widely worn by Allied forces on the European Front in 1944. The beret features intricate, elaborately carved SAS patterns on the left side, allowing for a high level of detail and realism.
The beret can be painted to match either the khaki or maroon colour schemes, providing flexibility for customization. This headset is a great addition for any SAS Jeep model, which is also known for its distinctive and combat-ready design.

The model showcases the helmets in a variety of worn and weathered styles, with each one positioned at a different angle to convey a sense of realism. The set includes five interchangeable heads, each with a unique facial expression that conveys tension and anxiety.
