The Subject: The Messerschmitt P.1101
The Messerschmitt P.1101 was a German experimental jet fighter concept developed during the final phase of World War II as part of the Jägernotprogramm (Emergency Fighter Programme). This programme was initiated by the Luftwaffe in 1944 to accelerate the development of advanced aircraft capable of countering the growing Allied air superiority.

Several GI's and odfficers posed next to this futuristic design that was discovered in the flesh in the middle of the mountainous countryside after the war. A litteral barn find!
Although the prototype's construction began in 1944, it was never completed due to the end of the war in 1945. The unfinished airframe was later captured by American forces and transported to the United States, where it influenced the design of the Bell X-5, the first aircraft to successfully implement variable-sweep wing technology.A side view of the P.1101 with the He S011 engine exposed. This picture was taken at the Messerschmitt Oberammergau base.
The Messerschmitt P.1101 stands as a testament to the ambitious engineering efforts of the Jägernotprogramm and represents a significant milestone in the evolution of jet-powered flight and aerodynamic innovation. Das Werk continues to build these late WWII designs that went beyond the physical or were on the cusp of development at the end of the war in the larger, 32nd scale. These should sell well, especially due to the futuristic design and the small size in this larger scale. We think people will like the possibilities this kit promises. Many post-war futuristic types could be conceived from this kit also.
Kit features
Highly detailed static plastic model with all of the original features captured here.
A detailed cockpit is there for the modeller; this looks very nice!
Different wings & tail sections are included: The Messerschmitt P. 1101 was a test aircraft to test the arrow angle of a future aircraft. The wings could be set in different positions on the floor, making the Me P.1101 an original prototype Swivel wingaircraft
Mk108 cannon with interior detail included
Detachable He S011 engine & trolley are included: The prototype was fitted with an apparently inoperable Heinkel He S 011 jet engine, but given the non-availability of this engine, a Jumo 004B was fitted for test flights.
The belly of the aircraft can be left open to show the full engine also...Ruhrstahl X-4 missiles are also included
The kit doesn't have a release date yet, but we will let you know when we do...
